“That's Why I Wanted to Come Here Today.” Trying Dualbell at HomeGymCon

“That's why I wanted to come here today.”
It's one of the comments I particularly enjoyed hearing at HomeGymCon.
A visitor stopped by the Dualbell booth and tried performing barbell curls using dumbbells mounted on a bar.
He wasn't simply watching a product demonstration. He wanted to experience the equipment for himself.
And that's exactly why we brought Dualbell to HomeGymCon.
Seeing Dualbell Is One Thing. Trying It Is Another.
When someone first discovers Dualbell, the concept can seem unusual.
Most people are accustomed to using dumbbells independently and loading conventional weight plates onto a bar.
Dualbell introduces another option.
Our patented dumbbell-to-barbell converters allow compatible dumbbells to serve as resistance on standard 1-inch bars.
That means someone who already owns dumbbells can use them for additional exercises, including barbell curls, bench presses, deadlifts, rows, and overhead presses.
The concept is straightforward, but it's understandable that people want to know what the setup actually feels like.
That's where hands-on demonstrations become especially valuable.
Trying Barbell Curls With Dumbbells
Barbell curls are a familiar exercise, making them a natural choice for someone trying Dualbell for the first time.
Typically, the exercise is performed using a straight bar or EZ-curl bar loaded with weight plates.
With Dualbell, compatible dumbbells provide the resistance instead.
The converters wrap around the dumbbell handles and slide onto a standard 1-inch bar. Proper collars secure the setup.
Once assembled, the lifter can perform curls using the bar while the dumbbells serve as the load.
An important feature of Dualbell is that the dumbbells can rotate naturally under load.
That gives the system its own movement characteristics, which people can experience during different exercises.
Why Home Gym Owners Are Interested
For many home gym owners, available space and equipment costs are important considerations.
Dumbbells are useful for a wide range of exercises, but adding conventional barbell training often means purchasing weight plates and finding somewhere to store them.
Dualbell provides another way to expand a home gym.
Rather than replacing the dumbbells you already own, it gives them another job.
You can use those same compatible dumbbells individually or mount them on a bar for additional exercises.
That versatility is particularly useful for people who train in apartments, spare rooms, garages, or other spaces where every piece of equipment needs to earn its place.
And it's not limited to fixed dumbbells. Dualbell also works with many adjustable dumbbells, depending on their handle dimensions and design.
What People Want to Know Before Trying Dualbell
At events like HomeGymCon, I hear many of the same practical questions.
Will my dumbbells fit?
Does the system work with the bars I already own?
How secure is the setup?
Can I use it for more than one exercise?
These are all reasonable questions.
Dualbell is designed for standard 1-inch (25 mm) bars and compatible dumbbells with handles up to approximately 1.38 inches (35 mm) in diameter.
The converters are made in the USA from durable Nylon 66.
They've been independently lab tested up to 1,900 lbs, with a maximum recommended load of a 125 lb dumbbell per converter.
Proper compatibility, secure collars, and appropriate lifting precautions remain essential.
Why I Enjoy Demonstrating Dualbell
I developed Dualbell because I wanted to get more exercises from the dumbbells I already owned.
That idea eventually became a patented product, but the original goal remains the same.
More exercise options without requiring an entirely separate collection of equipment.
At HomeGymCon, I had the opportunity to demonstrate that idea to people who were curious enough to stop and try it.
Some were interested in bench pressing.
Others wanted to try overhead presses, rows, or curls.
And some arrived with specific questions they wanted answered through firsthand experience.
This visitor's comment captured something I value about those interactions:
“That's why I wanted to come here today.”
More Exercises. Same Dumbbells.
Dualbell is about making dumbbells more useful.
By allowing compatible dumbbells to provide resistance on a standard 1-inch bar, Dualbell gives home gym owners another way to train with equipment they already have.
And sometimes, the best way to understand that versatility is to pick up the bar and try it.
That's what HomeGymCon was all about for us.
