“Passes My Test!” Trying a Clean and Press With Dualbell at HomeGymCon

“Yeah! Passes my test!”

That's how one visitor wrapped up his experience trying Dualbell at HomeGymCon.

He had already performed barbell curls and bench presses using dumbbells mounted on a bar.

Now he wanted to try one more movement: the clean and press.

After completing the exercise, he gave us his final assessment.

And I certainly enjoyed hearing it.

One Visitor, Three Different Exercises

One of the reasons we brought Dualbell to HomeGymCon was to let people experience its versatility firsthand.

It's easy to explain that Dualbell dumbbell converters allow compatible dumbbells to serve as resistance on standard 1-inch bars.

But watching someone perform several different exercises with the same equipment tells the story in a different way.

This visitor started with barbell curls.

During that demonstration, he commented on how balanced the setup felt.

He also tried bench pressing with dumbbells mounted on the bar.

And for his final exercise, he chose the clean and press.

Three different movements, all demonstrating ways to use dumbbells beyond their traditional role.

What Is a Clean and Press?

The clean and press is a compound movement that combines two actions.

First, the lifter brings the weight from a lower position toward the shoulders in the clean phase.

Then the weight is pressed overhead.

The exercise involves multiple muscle groups, including the legs, hips, back, shoulders, and arms.

It also requires coordination, control, and appropriate lifting technique.

Traditionally, a clean and press is performed with a bar loaded with weight plates.

With Dualbell, compatible dumbbells can provide the resistance instead.

That creates another way to perform the movement using equipment a home gym owner may already have.

Using Dumbbells on a Bar for a Clean and Press

Dualbell converters fit around compatible dumbbell handles and slide onto a standard 1-inch bar.

Once the converters are properly positioned and secured with appropriate collars, the dumbbells serve as the resistance for the exercise.

A distinctive feature of Dualbell is that the dumbbells can rotate naturally under load.

As the bar changes position, the dumbbells can adjust their orientation.

This is particularly interesting to observe during movements involving changes in bar position, such as the clean and press.

The movement characteristics are not identical to conventional weight plates, so lifters should become familiar with the setup using a manageable load before attempting more demanding exercises.

Proper technique, compatible equipment, and secure collars are essential.

Why Versatility Matters in a Home Gym

Building a home gym often involves compromises.

You want enough equipment to perform a variety of exercises, but you may have limited space, storage, or money to spend.

Dumbbells are a practical starting point because they can be used for so many movements.

However, many people also want to incorporate barbell exercises into their training.

That usually means buying a bar and weight plates.

Dualbell offers another option.

With compatible dumbbells and a standard 1-inch bar, you can perform additional exercises without needing conventional weight plates.

Your dumbbells can still be used individually for traditional dumbbell exercises.

And when you want to perform a movement using a bar, those same dumbbells can serve as the resistance.

More exercises. Less equipment.

Built for Different Ways to Train

Dualbell dumbbell converters are made in the USA from durable Nylon 66.

They've been independently lab tested up to 1,900 lbs, with a maximum recommended load of a 125 lb dumbbell per converter.

Dualbell is designed for standard 1-inch (25 mm) bars and compatible dumbbells with handles up to approximately 1.38 inches (35 mm) in diameter.

The system works with most traditional fixed dumbbells and many adjustable dumbbells, depending on their design and handle compatibility.

For overhead exercises such as the clean and press, users should pay particular attention to secure assembly, controlled technique, and appropriate load selection.

The Best Part of HomeGymCon

As the inventor of Dualbell, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to demonstrate what the product does.

But some of the best moments happen when visitors take over the demonstration themselves.

This gentleman didn't stop after one exercise.

He tried curls.

He tried bench presses.

And then he finished with a clean and press.

Afterward, he gave us his verdict:

“Yeah! Passes my test!”

It's a short comment, but it was a satisfying conclusion to his visit.

For me, that's what exhibiting at HomeGymCon was about.

Giving people the opportunity to try Dualbell, experience its versatility, and decide what they think for themselves.
