Setting Up the Dualbell Booth at HomeGymCon 2026

The Calm Before the Crowd

Long before the doors open and the aisles fill with visitors, every trade show begins the same way—with empty booths, shipping cases, tools, and a long checklist.

That was the scene as I arrived to set up the Dualbell booth for HomeGymCon 2026.

The video accompanying this article captures one small moment: raising the backdrop. On the surface, it might not seem like much. But for me, it represented months of preparation finally becoming real.

HomeGymCon is one of the best places to meet people who genuinely enjoy building, and using, home gyms. Some are just starting with a pair of adjustable dumbbells and a bench. Others have transformed their garages into training spaces that rival commercial gyms. No matter where they are in that journey, they're always looking for ways to get more versatility from the equipment they already own.

That made HomeGymCon the perfect place to introduce Dualbell dumbbell to barbell converters.

Rather than creating a booth where visitors simply looked at products behind a table, I wanted people to interact with the equipment. Throughout the booth, I set up multiple stations so attendees could immediately understand how Dualbell works.

One area featured a traditional bench press setup. Another showcased an EZ curl bar. Visitors could walk up, load familiar dumbbells onto a standard 1-inch bar, and immediately begin trying different exercises.

That hands-on experience was intentional.

Reading specifications online is helpful. Watching videos is helpful. But actually picking up a bar, performing a few repetitions, and feeling how everything moves tells a much more complete story.

As I assembled the booth, I kept thinking about the conversations that would happen over the next few days. Some people would immediately understand the concept. Others would arrive skeptical. Some would challenge the design. Others would ask technical questions about strength, compatibility, or materials. Those conversations were exactly why I came.

One lesson I've learned over the years is that every home gym is different.

Some people have dedicated workout rooms. Others train in a spare bedroom, apartment, basement, or garage. Budgets vary. Available space varies. Training goals vary.

Dualbell wasn't designed to replace every piece of equipment. It was designed to give people another option—one that helps them get more versatility from dumbbells they may already own.

That philosophy shaped the entire booth.

Instead of filling the space with large displays, I wanted the equipment itself to tell the story. Visitors were encouraged to pick up the bar, perform a few repetitions, ask questions, and share honest feedback.

As the backdrop went up and the final pieces came together, there was still plenty of work left to do. Dumbbells needed arranging. Bars needed positioning. Cameras needed charging. Signage required final adjustments.

But the hardest part was already finished.

The booth was ready.

Now all that remained was welcoming thousands of home gym enthusiasts through the doors.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing many of the conversations, reactions, and demonstrations that took place at HomeGymCon. Some visitors arrived with questions. Others arrived with skepticism. Many left with completely different impressions after trying Dualbell for themselves.

This video marks the beginning of that journey.

If you're interested in making more out of your existing dumbbells, I hope you'll follow along as I continue sharing highlights from HomeGymCon and the many conversations that made the event memorable.
