The Only Booth at HomeGymCon Where You Could Bench Press Dumbbells
Share
There were plenty of opportunities to bench press at HomeGymCon.
But at the Dualbell booth, we offered something a little different.
Visitors could bench press with dumbbells mounted on a bar instead of conventional weight plates.
It's not something you see every day, and that's part of what made demonstrating Dualbell at the show so enjoyable.
One visitor stopped by and gave it a try. The video shows him performing several bench press repetitions using Dualbell dumbbell converters.
The exercise was familiar. The equipment setup was a little less conventional.
Bench Pressing With Dumbbells on a Bar
Most people are familiar with two ways to bench press.
The first uses a barbell loaded with weight plates. The second uses a pair of dumbbells held independently.
Both are effective approaches, and each has its own characteristics.
But what if you already own dumbbells and want to perform a barbell bench press without purchasing a separate collection of weight plates?
That's where Dualbell comes in.
Dualbell dumbbell converters allow compatible dumbbells to be used as resistance on a standard 1-inch bar.
Instead of loading conventional plates, you attach the converters to your dumbbells, slide them onto the bar, and secure the setup with appropriate collars.
Now those dumbbells can help power your barbell exercises.
And when you're finished, they're still dumbbells.
More Ways to Use the Equipment You Already Own
One of the biggest challenges of building a home gym is deciding which equipment to purchase.
Dumbbells are versatile, but many people also want to perform exercises with a barbell.
That often means buying additional equipment, including weight plates, and finding space to store everything.
Dualbell offers another option.
If you already have compatible dumbbells, you can use them for barbell movements on standard 1-inch bars.
Bench presses are just one example.
You can also use Dualbell for exercises such as bent-over rows, overhead presses, deadlifts, shrugs, and barbell curls.
The idea isn't to replace every piece of gym equipment.
It's to get more value from what you already have.
Why Demonstrate Dualbell at HomeGymCon?
Watching a video of Dualbell is useful.
But lifting with it provides a different perspective.
At HomeGymCon, we wanted visitors to be able to pick up a bar, perform familiar exercises, and experience the setup for themselves.
Bench pressing was one of several demonstrations available at our booth.
We also showed visitors how Dualbell could be used with different bars and dumbbells, including compatible adjustable dumbbells.
For someone who has only ever used conventional weight plates on a barbell, seeing dumbbells serve that same purpose can be surprising.
And that's exactly why hands-on demonstrations matter.
What Makes Dualbell Different?
Dualbell isn't simply a way to hang dumbbells from a bar.
Each converter wraps around a compatible dumbbell handle and slides onto a standard 1-inch bar.
The design allows the dumbbells to rotate naturally under load.
That means the dumbbells can adjust their orientation as the bar moves during an exercise.
It's a distinctive characteristic of the system, and one that visitors can experience when trying different movements.
As with any exercise equipment, proper setup matters. The converters and dumbbells must be compatible, and suitable collars must be securely installed before lifting.
For bench pressing, appropriate safety precautions, including a spotter or suitable safety supports, are important.
Built for Strength and Versatility
Dualbell dumbbell converters are made in the USA from durable Nylon 66.
They've been independently lab tested up to 1,900 lbs, although the maximum recommended working load is a 125 lb dumbbell per Dualbell converter.
Dualbell works with standard 1-inch (25 mm) bars and most fixed dumbbells, along with many adjustable dumbbells with compatible handles.
That opens up a wide range of possibilities for home gym owners who want to expand their exercise options without filling their space with additional equipment.
Plates Optional at HomeGymCon
One of the most enjoyable parts of HomeGymCon was watching people discover new ways to use equipment they already recognized.
A bench press is a bench press.
But performing it with dumbbells mounted on a bar makes people look twice.
For me, that's the fun of Dualbell.
You don't always need more equipment to do more exercises.
Sometimes you just need another way to use what you've got.
Plates Optional.
